Our hearty gang mostly ready to go. Rain? What rain? (oh, that rain…)
A rare gum tree. Likely a non-native species.
A hibernating queen hornet. Very dopy, not a threat to anyway. We put it back where we found it once we had a good look.
At a stop along the way. Our fearless leader Karen had things to share.
A small salamander. The original reason we were looking under wet logs.
A small brown snake. Slightly injured – a cut on it’s one side half way back. Not everyone was keen to handle him.
