Sermon: Sin as Forgetfulness – Josiah Ropp
Genesis/Itangiriro 1:26-27a
Then God said, “Let us make humanity in our image to resemble us so that they may take charge of the fish of the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the earth, and all the crawling things on earth.” God created humanity in God’s own image.
Imana iravuga iti “Tureme umuntu agire ishusho yacu ase natwe, batware amafi yo mu nyanja, n’inyoni n’ibisiga byo mu kirere, n’amatungo n’isi yose, n’igikururuka hasi cyose.” Imana irema umuntu ngo agire ishusho yayo.
Isaiah/Yesaya 55:10-11
Just as the rain and the snow come down from the sky and don’t return there without watering the earth, making it conceive and yield plants and providing seed to the sower and food to the eater, so is my word that comes from my mouth; it does not return to me empty. Instead, it does what I want, and accomplishes what I intend.
“Nk’uko imvura na shelegi bimanuka bivuye mu ijuru ntibisubireyo, ahubwo bigatosa ubutaka bukameza imbuto bugatoshya n’ingundu, bugaha umubibyi imbuto n’ushaka kurya bukamuha umutsima, ni ko ijambo ryanjye riva mu kanwa kanjye rizamera. Ntirizagaruka ubusa ahubwo rizasohoza ibyo nshaka, rizashobora gukora icyo naritumye.
